Casamance Padua Fabrics
Padua is inspired by a garden that holds centuries of botanical discovery, where herbariums and extraordinary beds create a living library of observed and classified plants. That spirit becomes a textile tribute: a natural linen-and-cotton base animated by large leaves that appear almost sewn on, echoing the meticulous planning of an herbarium and the careful study of plant form. The design is traditionally created through screen-printing on the Guethary plain, then reembroidered by hand with a raffia-look acrylic yarn, bringing artisanal relief and a crafted dimension that feels both natural and elevated. The result is botanical, but not delicate; it is generous, graphic and textured, designed to be appreciated up close as much as from across the room. Paduas layered technique gives the collection its distinctive identity, merging print with hand-finished embroidery to create a surface that feels alive with detail, texture and depth. Presented in a concise range of three colourways, the fabric is positioned as a statement botanical with couture-level craft, ideal for schemes that favour natural inspiration delivered with a refined, contemporary sensibility. Padua celebrates the richness of plant life, not as decoration alone, but as a studied, elevated motif shaped by material expertise and careful handwork.
