Mandalay Arbour

This tree of life design is drawn directly from the leather wallcoverings in the dining room at Bateman's, a Jacobean mansion in East Sussex. Elaborate designs such as these were inspired by 17th-century Indian chintzes, which often depicted sinuous flowering trees with birds among their branches. Leather hangings foreran wallpaper as we know it today, and although panels of this kind required a different skill to create, the process by which early wallpapers were hung, and their decorative effect in the room, is very similar. Documented as Dutch in origin, Mr & Mrs Rudyard Kipling paid 100 guineas for them in 1902, having recently bought Bateman's as their family home. The paper versions are printed on a wide (70cm) roll and the pattern has been adapted to repeat effortlessly and continuously along the wall. Orders are despatched and confirmed via email with tracking number and delivered by UPS.

UPS now has a UPS My Choice option to reschedule or collect from many UPS pick-up points.

All bespoke items carry a longer lead time and you will often be quoted an estimated delivery date prior to placing the order.

If there are any issues with meeting the standard delivery time frame, you will be contacted.

Fabric Returns Policy

Each fabric order is bespoke, as the fabric has been specifically cut to your requirements. For this reason we cannot accept cancellations, refunds, or direct exchanges.

We can, however, request that the fabric companies accept your order back into stock and negotiate a refund. This is subject to their agreement and payment of their handling charges. Please contact us if you have ordered the wrong product or changed your mind.

Fabric companies typically impose a restocking/handling fee of around 30% of the order value. This would be deducted from your refund.

Returns are not usually possible if the fabric length is less than 5 metres.

To be eligible for a return, items must be unused, in original condition, and in original packaging.

All return postage costs are the buyer’s responsibility. We recommend using a professional courier.

Faulty Items

If an item is faulty, a full replacement or refund can be offered up to 30 days for faulty or damaged goods at no extra cost. Please notify us within a few days of receipt. A replacement or refund will be processed as quickly as possible.

Is available for this product, however we do not hold stock of samples and rely on our suppliers having stock of the samples to supply to us. If you wish to receive a cutting of this product please use the order sample button and follow the check out procedure.

Fabric sample sizes can vary but are generally approx 10cms x 10cms square. Wallpaper samples can be anything from approx A6 to A4 size.
