The Khmer Collection, featuring Thai silk that's rich in texture, is one of Jim Thompson's traditional all time 'Best Sellers'. A medium weight, hand-woven two-ply silk, New Khmer challenges the traditional practice of using the same silk yarn in the warp and weft. Breaking with tradition, New Khmer features a novel design approach in which the silk thread in the warp differs in nature with the silk thread in the weft. The technique results in a highly lustrous fabric that's smooth and silky in its overall appearance and feel, and yet it is interspersed with intermittent 'slubs', the occasional 'humps and bumps' typically associated with heavier 4-ply and 6-ply silk such as the popular Mekong. However New Khmer is noticeably lighter in weight, making it a good choice for upholstery and curtains. The beauty of this fabric lies in its weave, it takes considerable talent and experience to achieve just the right tension in the warp. At 54 inches in width, New Khmer is also 6 inches wider than the standard. The New Khmer Collection offers an impressive selection of 69 colors, some such as ivory, plum, brick and blue-blue metallic hues reflecting new trends, others consist of all time 'best sellers' and recommended color choices.

Delivery aim for UK orders is 3–5 working days unless otherwise stated below the add to cart button. Other locations vary.

Orders are despatched and confirmed via email with tracking number and delivered by UPS.

UPS now has a UPS My Choice option to reschedule or collect from many UPS pick-up points.

All bespoke items carry a longer lead time and you will often be quoted an estimated delivery date prior to placing the order.

If there are any issues with meeting the standard delivery time frame, you will be contacted.

Fabric Returns Policy

Each fabric order is bespoke, as the fabric has been specifically cut to your requirements. For this reason we cannot accept cancellations, refunds, or direct exchanges.

We can, however, request that the fabric companies accept your order back into stock and negotiate a refund. This is subject to their agreement and payment of their handling charges. Please contact us if you have ordered the wrong product or changed your mind.

Fabric companies typically impose a restocking/handling fee of around 30% of the order value. This would be deducted from your refund.

Returns are not usually possible if the fabric length is less than 5 metres.

To be eligible for a return, items must be unused, in original condition, and in original packaging.

All return postage costs are the buyer’s responsibility. We recommend using a professional courier.

Faulty Items

If an item is faulty, a full replacement or refund can be offered up to 30 days for faulty or damaged goods at no extra cost. Please notify us within a few days of receipt. A replacement or refund will be processed as quickly as possible.

Is available for this product, however we do not hold stock of samples and rely on our suppliers having stock of the samples to supply to us. If you wish to receive a cutting of this product please use the order sample button and follow the check out procedure.

Fabric sample sizes can vary but are generally approx 10cms x 10cms square. Wallpaper samples can be anything from approx A6 to A4 size.
